 1:00 am

-          I placed a blog entry regarding my bucket list. The last thing I wrote was “To see Michael Jackson before he dies”. At the time I was writing that blog, I didn’t feel any premonition of some sort. I just felt like writing things down as they enter my brain. Little did I know that at about that time Michael Jackson’s seemingly lifeless body was already rushed to the UCLA medical center.

6:30 am

-          While in transit, my phone kept vibrating. I didn’t mind taking out my phone because I wanted to get a few minutes of shut-eye. I wouldn’t look at my phone until a few hours later.

 7:30

-          THE NEWS. Before I even got a chance to go to my table, my officemate eagerly told me about it. At first my reaction was like : “Excuse me, can you repeat it again?” And then she showed me the Yahoo homepage on her screen. My next reaction: “WTF??? This can’t be happening!”.

  I backed out and went to my table. That officemate didn’t know I was such a big fan. And she didn’t know that at that point I wanted to just pass out. I slumped on my chair, my mind suddenly went blank.

 THE REST OF THE MORNING

-          I looked at my phone. Several unanswered calls from my mother. And numerous text messages from friends. I didn’t return any of their calls or texts. I turned OFF my phone shortly afterwards.

 Back then I still had Facebook access at work. I spent a few hours airing my emotions online. All in bold letters for friends to see how much the whole fucking thing was hurting. It was my first encounter with grief and I was in complete denial. I don’t know the man personally, neither does he. But he’s been part of my life for 16 years and that in itself, is such a big thing already. He was a lifestyle, a habit that was so hard to shake off.

 THE REST OF THE AFTERNOON

-          It was during lunchtime when the first onslaught of tears came. I walked outside to clear my head. His music was playing on infinite loop on my iPod. I just suddenly cried. I got a few weird stares from the people I passed by but that time I didn’t care. I was deeply gutted.  I came back to the office puffy-eyed and disoriented.

 THE EVENING

-          Friday nights to me are almost always spent drinking with friends and catching up on the goings-on of their lives. At that particular evening, two of them shared in my grief. We had a few beers and we eventually spent the remaining hours at the videoke bar singing our hearts out.

 I cried myself to sleep that night. Partof my heart just died.

Handout’Michael Jackson’s Blue Eye,’ an unused portrait intended for the singer’s 2001 album ‘Invincible,’ is set to be placed on auction later this year Jackson decided to use this Warhol-esque photo for his ‘Invincible’ album.

As the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson‘s death approaches, a very special picture of the pop star will be up for grabs at a memorabilia auction to take place in December, reports the Daily Mail.

The portrait, taken in 1999, is an uncommonly subdued shot of the late King of Pop, who was as known for his extravagance as he was for his music.

Titled “Michael Jackson’s Blue Eye,” the photo features Jackson dressed in a black suit jacket with small mirrors scattered across his chest. His eyes are closed, with one covered with a brilliant patch of blue makeup. His hair is pulled back behind his head, and the makeup makes the singer appear healthy and vibrant.

The portrait is a stark contrast from the image of a painfully skinny Jackson most commonly associate with his death, and serves as a reminder of Jackson’s enduring appeal as a larger-than-life figure.

The portrait was reportedly shot by then-23-year-old French photographer Arno Bani, who told the paper that Jackson was a fan of his fashion photography and commissioned him for the shoot.

The portrait was on the short list to make the cover of Jackson’s 2001 album, “Invincible” (his final studio album), but ultimately lost out to a similarly themed (but less eerie) Warhol-esque photo of Jackson’s face.

The portrait’s unveiling comes amid renewed insistence from Jackson’s family that his death was no accident. According to Us Weekly, Jackson expressed concerns to his mother, Katherine, that people “wanted him dead.”

“He would always say that. For him to say that, he must have known something,” said Katherine, who appears on a “Dateline” special this Friday titled “Michael Jackson: A Mother’s Love.”

The “Blue Eye” portrait, along with 11 other unpublished shots of Jackson and 50 contact boards, will be put up for bidding by auctioneers Pierre Berge & Associates in December

1. “Thriller,” the biggest-selling album ever, wasn’t the only Michael Jackson work released in November 1982. A few weeks before it was set to hit stores, MCA Records released an album of Jackson reading the story of “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial” and performing the original song “Someone in the Dark.” The album promotion, which featured posters of Jackson and E.T. looking very friendly, angered CBS Records, which felt it was stealing the thunder from “Thriller.” Lawsuits ensued. Both albums ended up winning Grammys the following year.

2. “Thriller’s” phenomenal success led to a breaking down of traditional racial barriers on FM radio at the time. New York’s WPLJ, a “white” station, played Jackson’s “Beat It” because of Eddie Van Halen’s appearance on it. The song caused a wave of protests from some listeners who didn’t want “black” music on their station. MTV also had a reputation for favoring white performers at the time, and its heavy rotation of Jackson videos helped alleviate the criticism.

3. The music video of “Thriller” played in a Westwood theater for one week in 1983 to qualify for an Oscar nomination. It opened for Disney’s “Fantasia,” much to the dismay of unsuspecting parents.

4. After the success of the “Thriller” video, a Hollywood production company began serious work on turning “Billie Jean” into a feature film. (In 1985, Helen Slater starred in the teenage drama “The Legend of Billie Jean,” although there is no connection.)

5. In 1984, the National Coalition on Television Violence classified more than half of 200 MTV videos surveyed as too violent, including the videos for Jackson’s “Thriller” and “Say, Say, Say.” Dr. Thomas Radecki, chairman of the coalition, was quoted as saying, “It’s not hard to imagine young viewers after seeing ‘Thriller’ saying, ‘Gee, if Michael Jackson can terrorize his girlfriend, why can’t I do it too?’ “

7. “Thriller” video makeup artist Rick Baker already had an Oscar on his resume. He won the award for best makeup in 1981 — the first time the award was handed out — for his work on “An American Werewolf in London.”

11. Just as Van Halen’s guitar solo begins in “Beat It,” there’s a noise that sounds like someone knocking on a door. According to rock ‘n’ roll myth, the knock is someone walking into Van Halen’s studio. Another story claims it’s simply the sound of Van Halen knocking on his own guitar.

12. “Thriller’s” opening cut, “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” is also the longest track on the album, clocking in at over six minutes. The radio version, however, is about two minutes shorter.

Greetings MJ Fans….
While visiting him a few days ago at Forest Lawn , Riley and I couldn’t help but notice that , while there are a few bouquets , candles and gifts there is a very large empty space around him and in front of him that could use a whole lot more.
While , I am sure that the staff at The Holy Terrace do their very best to place what is sent and what is placed at the door at his tomb , I thought you might like to know that he would want and deserves more than what is there and I had an idea…….
Some may or may not know this but his favorite flower was the Sunflower.
They made him happy because they looked happy to him , Thus, he called them “The Happy Flower”.
When we were married , I would try and fill up rooms with them wherever he was.
I wanted to bring something to place near him that he liked and that wouldn’t die so I brought a large vase of silk sunflowers and placed them near him.
This barely made any kind of dent in the atmosphere so I thought of maybe letting those who care know what the situation is and how we can solve it.
I know how much he loved and appreciated being showered with Gifts and flowers by his fans , I thought if whoever wants to bought just one silk sunflower each and sent it , the whole area around him and in front of him (As well as the two large empty vases that sit on either side of him) could be filled up in no time , which would be much more appropriate than what the current status is right now.
We can all cause a “Sun shower” if you will………..
He deserves to be flooded and surrounded , LETS SURROUND HIM!
